Box Score MINNEAPOLIS - Omaha Women's Tennis (14-8) won its 10th straight match and qualified for the 2025 Summit League Championships St. Thomas (6-12) 5-2 Sunday afternoon at Innercity Tennis Center.
"Fantastic end to the weekend," head coach Adam Summitt said. "St. Thomas is a team that consistently competes well and has been in positions to win matches. We continue to play excellent doubles. It jump-starts us going into singles.
The Mavericks took the doubles point in the match. Freshmen Katelynn Kock and Nina Wiese won their seventh straight match, topping Ingrid Forsberg and Caroline Lindahl 6-2.
Sophomore Khayli Buckels and senior Paula Arcarons also squeezed by with a 6-4 win over Marthe Degeorges and Regina Talavera.
Buckels picked up her eighth straight singles win when she beat Degeorges 7-6 (1).
Buckels has gone 2-0 in the top singles spot.
Wiese won her 10th consecutive singles match, beating Lindahl 6-4, 6-3.
Kock recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win in Minneapolis over Anna Sidorenko.
Senior Keegan VanPelt had a decisive 6-2, 6-0 victory against Forsberg.
"Keegan played one of her best matches to give us a quick extension of our lead," Summitt added. "Then the two freshmen stepped up and came through for the team. For freshmen to do that on the road and in this match type is huge for them and the program."
Omaha hits the road to face Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla., for its final regular season match on Sunday, April 13, at noon CT.
