OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Women's Tennis (13-8) grabbed its ninth straight win on Friday evening when it beat Kansas City 5-2 and celebrated senior night at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
"Terrific win today," head coach Adam Summitt said. "We were down a player as Zoe [Adkins] was unavailable. Everyone knew it was a tall task, and they rose to the occasion. Senior Keegan VanPelt and junior Summer Shannon took down Catherine Chrobak and Sophie Marshman 7-5.
The Mavericks took the doubles point thanks to the two victories.
Sophomore Khayli Buckels beat Cardona 6-1, 3-6, 7-5.
Wiese scored a singles victory 6-3-6-0 over Chrobak.
Paula Arcarons had a big win on senior night, taking Bylina down 6-2, 7-5.
"The seniors go out with a win," Summitt said. "We thank Paula, Keegan and Colby for everything they've contributed to our program. They changed the program and our culture for the better. They will always be remembered as Mavericks."
