Apr 22, 2025

A split weekend for the Mavericks as Lily Schwartz records the 10th-fastest time in the 1500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Los Angeles, California.

Half of the team traveled to Los Angeles, while the other half stayed in Nebraska to compete in the Loper Invitational in Kearney, Nebraska.

"A split weekend as we took to two separate competitions spread across three days and over 1,000 miles apart. It's a turning point in the outdoor season as we begin to set our eyes on the final weeks until the conference championships. We had some highlight performances from both meets, and we can really start to see a sense of confidence being established by those performers," said head coach Cliff Cisar. "At Bryan Clay, the whole crew performed at a high level, capped off by a near five-second personal record to end the day by Lily Schwartz in the 1500 meters. Her time of 4:39.32 now sets her as the 10th-fastest in program history.

At the Loper Invitational, Ashley Ostrand had a career day, setting personal records in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Grace Mustard also had a phenomenal day with a new personal record in the 200 meters and an event win in the 100-meter hurdles. It's time to relax for a couple of days before we get back to work and set our eyes on the homestretch of the season."

At the Loper Invitational, Ashley Ostrand finished in second place in the 100 meters with a personal record time of 12.47 seconds. Regan Barnard finished just behind in fourth place with a time of 12.76 seconds.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, the 4x100-meter relay team of Emma Klein, Avyn Urbanski, Ava Robinson, and Tania Gleason ran a season-best time of 47.36 seconds.

Not only did the 4x100-meter relay team set a season best, but so did the 4x400-meter relay team of Macy Persinger, Ava Robinson, Jocelynn Skoda, and Meredith Richter. They finished with a time of 3:54.93.

Persinger also ran an outdoor personal record in the 400 meters, finishing in 57.66 seconds.
