Box Score

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Women's Tennis (11-8) extended its winning streak to seven straight matches and improved its dominant home record (6-2) when it beat Summit League foe North Dakota (12-5) 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.

"Fantastic win today," head coach Adam Summitt said. "The team fought hard and earned a much-needed conference win."

This was the Mavericks' first win over the Fighting Hawks since the 2021-22 season.

Omaha got the doubles point off a clean sweep that started when junior Zoe Adkins and senior Paula Arcarons teamed up and secured a 6-2 victory over Aziza Aubin and Ethel Li.

Sophomore Khayli Buckels and junior Summer Shannon also grabbed a 6-2 doubles victory against Jule Schulte and Nore Heinitz.

Finally, the reigning Summit League's Kwik Trip Peak Doubles Team of the Week freshmen Katelynn Kock and Nina Wiese took down Alyssa Giuponni and Andrea Pineda 6-1.

Adkins had a 6-0, 6-4 singles win over Pineda to kick off the dominant day of singles that saw Omaha take five of six matches.

Buckels won 2-6, 7 (7)-6 (5), 6-1 against Ethel.

Wiese continued the quest for seven straight as she topped Schulte 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

Arcarons clinched the Omaha win as she ended with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Heinitz.

Kock succeeded again in singles, downing Aubin 6-3, 7-5.

"We have struggled against North Dakota in years past, so this was a sweet victory," Summitt added. "We were dominant in doubles and never let up. When singles started, we got straight-set wins to close it out. Even getting those two extra matches is huge for us. It was great to have Paula [Arcarons] back. She played brave and came in clutch with the clinching win."

Omaha goes for its eighth consecutive head-to-head victory when it hosts Marquette tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. CT at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
