No. 20 Hockey ranked in March 10 USCHO Poll

OMAHA, Neb. – No. 20 Omaha Hockey (18-15-1, 14-9-1 NCHC) is ranked again in the USCHO poll for the sixth week in 2024-25, as it had been five times prior between the initial rankings on Sept. 23, 2024 through Feb. 16, 2025.

Since last earning a ranking in the Feb. 10 poll (No. 20), the Mavericks have received votes in the poll every week.

Since Nov. 15, the Mavericks have gone 16-9-1, with seven wins against ranked opponents. The 16 wins since Nov. 15 are tied for the second-most in the NCHC and the eighth-most in the nation.

Since Jan. 1, Omaha has been 7-1-0 on Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena. The Mavericks' seven wins on home ice since the start of 2025 are the second-most in the NCHC and are tied for the fifth-most wins in the country.

For teams that have played eight or fewer home games since Jan. 1, Omaha is tied for the most wins in the country.

14 of Omaha's 18 wins have come against conference opponents.

Omaha's special teams have been top-tier in conference play. Its 27.8 percent success rate on the power play is the second-best in the NCHC and eighth highest in the nation among all teams against conference opponents.

The Mavericks have allowed NCHC opponents 14 power play goals, the fourth-lowest number in the league.

Graduate forward Sam Stange's 15 goals lead the Mavericks and are the seventh-most in the NCHC. His 32 points (15G-17A) lead Omaha and are tied for 10th in the conference.

The Mavericks clinched a home series for the 2025 NCHC Quarterfinal Round when they beat then-No. 18 North Dakota to close the regular season on Saturday, March 8, in Grand Forks, N.D.

#4 (seed) Omaha will face #5 North Dakota for the second straight week, but this time on Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena in the NCHC Quarterfinal Round. Game one is on Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m. CT, game two is on Saturday, March 15, at 7 p.m. CT, and if necessary, game three will take place on Sunday, March 16, at 6 p.m. CT.
