Mar 1, 2025

Brookings, South Dakota - The 4x400 meter relay team led the Mavericks on Day Two of the Summit League Championships with the fastest indoor mark in the last decade in program history.

"A solid end to the indoor season. Growth isn't always linear, but this season we've had a tremendous amount of it," said head coach Cliff Cisar. "I'm looking forward to giving this group a well earned short break from the season as we rest our minds and bodies and get ready for Outdoor!"

The 4x400 meter relay team of Macy Persinger, Ava Robinson, Jocelynn Skoda, and Tania Gleason finished with a time of 3:50.92. This put them into the record books with the fastest indoor 4x400 relay time in the last decade for the program.

Gleason also made the finals in two events.

In the 60-meter dash, Gleason finished in eighth place with a time of 7.72 seconds.

Gleason then went on to put up the fifth fastest time in program history in the 200 meter finals with a personal record time of 24.41 seconds finishing in fifth place overall.

"Proud of her (Tania Gleason) commitment over the course of the year," said Cisar. "She had close finishes last year outside of the finals in her championships and it really fueled her development to the next level so far this year. Excited to continue to watch her climb as we head outdoors!"

Senior Kaitlin Hellbusch finished her indoor career today by placing seventh in the high jump with a distance of 1.62 meters (5'-03.75").

"A wonderful career for Kaitlin. She's been a pleasure to be around and I greatly appreciate her commitment to this program and the university," said Cisar. "We will miss her, but I know her efforts will have left a lasting impact on our program and will help us continue to new heights!"

Junior Emma Klein had a strong performance in the triple jump.

Klein placed eighth overall in the event with a distance of 12.04 meters (39'-06") also putting her into sixth place in program history.

The Omaha track and field team has a short break before the outdoor season picks up on March 29 in Kearney, Nebraska for the Central Nebraska Challenge at Kearney High School.
