Sutton Earns Second Kwik Star #SummitMBB Peak Performer of the Week Award

Feb 24, 2025

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After a career night in which he topped 30 points for the first time to lead Omaha to its first Regular Season Title of the Division I era, Marquel Sutton has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week.

Sutton pulled out all the stops in the biggest game of his career. His 36 points were the most he has ever had in a game and accounted for over a third of Omaha's points in the 93-85 win over South Dakota. He also tied his single-game high of field goals made with 14 as he shot 70.0% on the night. Pulling down 12 rebounds as well, this gave Sutton his ninth career double-double.

Prior to Saturday night, Sutton also had a great performance against Kansas City on Wednesday, scoring 22 while shooting 8-for-14 (57.1%). He now has five straight games with 20 or more points scored.

Now with 562 points on the season, Sutton moved up to ninth on the program's single-season scoring list, while his 1288 career points brought him to 16th all-time.

This is the second weekly honor of Sutton's career.
