Feb 22, 2025

Box Score

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Tennis (3-6) suffered a 0-7 loss to DePaul (5-5) at Miracle Hill Tennis Center on Friday evening.

"Great test today against a good DePaul team," head coach Adam Summitt said. "The biggest goal was to compete at a high level on every point. I felt an improvement from last week, but DePaul was on today.

The Mavericks did not win any singles or doubles matches and were shutout for the first time at home this season.

Omaha is now 2-2 at Miracle Hills Tennis Center in 2025.

Sophomore Khayli Buckels had a competitive match in singles and took the second set 6-4. However, she ultimately fell 3-6 in the third set.

Senior Keegan VanPelt won her first set in singles 6-3 and played a tight second set but lost 4-6. VanPelt dropped the third set 2-6.

"They had a few players that weren't missing and hitting a lot of winners," Summitt added. "Not much we can do when they are in that zone except compete. Quick turnaround for a big rivalry match vs Creighton on Sunday."

Omaha returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 23, against in-town foe Creighton at Miracle Hill Tennis Center at 4 p.m. CT.
