Omaha Swimming and Diving adds more medals in day three at Summit League Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Omaha Swimming and Diving had another full day of events and has both the men's and women's teams positioned in third place after it added another individual champion on Friday at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.

Senior Hailey Matthews was impressed on the day as she was crowned the Summit League Champion in the women's 100 back to win her first conference championship. The senior clocked in at 54.55 in preliminaries which set a new Omaha record for the event.

Matthews was also a member of the women's 400 medley relay team that took third place.

The Mavericks' men's and women's teams both placed third in the 400 medley relays.

Omaha was one of four schools between the men's and women's teams competing in the Summit League Championships to crown a champion on Friday.

After three days of competition, the Mavericks have two individual champions and one team diving event championship.

Omaha competes again on Saturday with the swimming prelims at 10 a.m. CT, diving prelims at 12:30 p.m. CT and swimming finals at 6 p.m. CT.
