IOWA CITY, Iowa – Omaha's men's and women's swimming and diving teams sit in second (245 points) and third place (240 points) after day two of events at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.
The women's team earned the Mavericks' first overall gold medal of the championships when sophomore Brooke Robbins, freshman Ava Snyder and junior Bella Price took first place in the women's diving springboard team event with a score of 277.00.
Three program records were broken on day two, and five new ones have been set for the Mavericks overall in the tournament.
Omaha's men's diving team had favorable results in the one-meter dive, with senior Ian Blackstock and sophomore Will Mueller placing second and third, respectively.
Away from the diving board, senior Payton Easley clocked in at 22.79 in the women's 50 free, setting a new Omaha school record and winning a conference title.
In the 200 free events, both the men's and women's times recorded new program records. The men finished the event at 1:32.41 and the women at 1:20.42.
Day three begins with swimming preliminaries at 10 a.m., then diving preliminaries/consolation finals at 12:30 p.m. and swimming and diving finals at 6 p.m.
