OMAHA, Neb. – No. 20 Omaha Hockey (16-11-1, 12-5-1 NCHC) is ranked again in the USCHO poll for the fifth week in 2024-25 as it had been four times prior between the initial rankings on Sept. 23 through Oct. 21, 2024.

The Mavericks have received votes in the poll every week since Jan. 13 as it put together a 7-1-1 record in the first month of 2025.

Omaha set a new program record for January wins last month and tied for most wins in a single month, as it has only won seven games in a month four times.

Since Nov. 15, the Mavericks have gone 13-5-1, with five of those wins coming against ranked opponents. The 13 wins since Nov. 15 are tied for the sixth-most in Division I and the third-most in the NCHC.

Additionally, Omaha's eight wins on home ice since Nov. 15 are the second most in the NCHC and third most in the nation. The Mavericks have won seven straight home games dating back to their 2-1 win against Lindenwood on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Seven straight wins at home is the longest active winning streak at home this season, and eight straight in conference games is the longest streak of its kind in 2024-25.

11 of Omaha's 16 wins have come against conference opponents, the third-most in the NCHC. Among NCHC teams, the Mavericks' 64 goals in conference play are the second-most and their 46 goals against are tied for the second least.

In conference play, Omaha's special teams have been top-tier. Its 30.5 percent success rate on the power play is the second-best in the NCHC and is tied for fifth in the nation.

The Mavericks have allowed NCHC opponents nine power play goals, the second-lowest number in the league.

Omaha has won nine games on Friday nights this season, the second-most in the NCHC and tied for the fourth-most nationally on Fridays.

Senior forward Zach Urdahl's 12 goals lead the Mavericks and is tied for the sixth-most in the NCHC. Graduate forward Sam Stange leads Omaha with 25 points (11G-14A) and assists.

This week, the Mavericks travel to No. 3 Western Michigan in a two-game battle at Lawson Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich. The game on Friday, Feb. 14, will begin at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT, and Saturday, Feb. 15, will start at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT.
