MANHATTAN, Kan. – Omaha Women's Basketball fell to Kansas State, 100-35, in the season opener on the road on Monday.
 
The Mavericks (0-1) came out slow against the Wildcats (1-0) with the Mavs not scoring until the 4:01 mark of the first quarter when graduate student 
Sarai Estupiñan hit back-to-back free throws to open scoring.
 
The first two quarters were slow for Omaha with only nine points for the Mavericks. But, Omaha woke up at halftime with 26 points in the next two quarters. The Mavs almost doubled their score in the third quarter with 15 points in 10 minutes.
 
Junior 
Cora Olsen (Omaha, Neb.) led the team in scoring with seven points. The forward shot two from the field, one from the arc and two from the line.
 
The Mavericks were able to tally up some rebounds with 24 in the game with 16 defensive and eight offensive. Freshman center 
Lillian Merow (Port Washington, Wis.) led the team with seven total, two on offense and five on defense.
 
The Mavericks return to Omaha on Thursday, Nov. 6 to host the College of St. Mary (Neb.) at 6:30 p.m. in Sapp Fieldhouse. Tickets can be purchased at
