OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Volleyball is headed to the Summit League Championship, starting with (3) St. Thomas on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. CT in Brookings, S.D.
The Mavericks (10-15, 7-9 Summit League) ended the season with a 3-0 win over Kansas City to secure a season sweep against the Roos. Omaha also swept North Dakota and Oral Roberts and split the season with Denver to secure the six-seed in the conference tournament.
The Tommies (18-9, 11-5) swept Omaha this season with a 3-1 win in Minnesota and a 3-0 win in Nebraska.
Three Mavericks landed themselves on All-Summit League teams. Senior
Kali Jurgensmeier (Wahoo, Neb.) earned a first team nod. Junior
Emily Huss (Fairbury, Neb.) landed on the second team while
Faith Venable (Lincoln, Neb.) was named to the all-freshman team.
If the Mavericks win, they will face (2) South Dakota (20-8, 12-4) in the semifinal round. The Coyotes also swept Omaha this season.
