PULLMAN, Wash. - Omaha Volleyball fell to Washington State, 3-0, in the season opener on the road on Friday night.
The Cougars (1-0) won the opening set 25-19, the second set 25-20 and the final set 25-22 over the Mavericks (0-1).
Sophomore outside hitter
Faith Venable (Lincoln, Neb.) led the Omaha offense with nine kills, followed by sophomore outside hitter Lara Marić (Brisbane, Australia) with seven kills.
Marić surpassed her freshman season total in service aces with a pair against the Cougars. Junior setter
Maddie Stuesser (Austin, Texas) also recorded a pair of aces alongside graduate outside hitter
Madi Corf (Kansas City, Mo.).

Alizabeth Jacobsen (Neola, Iowa) led the defensive effort with a pair of assisted blocks. Omaha finished the night with three total team blocks.
The Mavericks are back in action tomorrow against Central Michigan at 4 p.m. CT. The match will not be streamed, but
