BROOKINGS, S.D. - (6) Omaha Women's Soccer fell to (3) South Dakota State 1-0 Saturday in the Summit League Championship quarterfinal.
The home Jackrabbits scored six minutes, 13 seconds into the opening half as Jenna Maloy scored her sixth goal of the season for SDSU off a header to lift the side into the conference semifinal.
Omaha out-shot the Jackrabbits (11-2-6, 4-1-3 Summit) 7-3 in the second half. Four Mavericks combined to record five shots-on-target.
Senior
Charlotte Huggard (Plymouth, Mich.) made the start in goal for the Mavericks, making five saves on 15 shots faced.
Tim Walters' Mavericks finish the season 6-9-4 overall with a 3-4-1 mark in the conference.
(3) South Dakota State advances to the semifinal on Thursday, Nov. 6 in Tulsa, Okla. Matchups to be determined.
