AMES, Iowa - Omaha Women's Tennis ends its weekend with a 2-2 record, falling 0-4 to Iowa State on Friday and 1-6 to North Texas on Saturday at Ames Fitness Center - South after starting the season off last weekend with two big wins.

"This was a challenging weekend, and we competed well, at times," head coach Adam Summitt said. "Iowa State is a solid team, they have great pace and consistency. We struggled to get a rhythm to make it competitive on all courts."

Three of the five singles matches against Iowa State were unfinished in the third set.

Senior Paula Arcarons looked competitive in her matchup with Iowa State's Cris Ramos Sierra, as she had a 5-4 lead in the second set before it went unfinished.

Saturday's neutral site matchup with North Texas saw the Mavericks win two of the three doubles matches on the day. Arcarons and junior Zoe Adkins, as well as sophomore Khayli Buckels and junior Summer Shannon, came away with victories.

"We responded well vs North Texas," Summit added. "We had some amazing energy and play in doubles. North Texas came out firing in singles and kept us off balance. We had some closer matches than the score indicates."

Omaha did not pick up a victory in singles throughout the two competitions.

The Mavericks travel to Lawrence, Kan., to play the Jayhawks at the Jayhawk Tennis Center next Friday, Jan. 31, at 5 p.m. CT.
