Mavericks Head to Grand Forks for Final Road Series

The 32-11 Omaha Mavericks are set for their final road series of the season. The Mavericks will take on North Dakota on April 27 and 28.

    - The Mavericks head to Grand Forks with a 32-11 overall record, having gone 11-5 on the road. 
    - Omaha will head to UND having won each of their five conference series. 
    - The team is coming off a 7-3 loss to Creighton on Tuesday. Omaha opened with a sacrifice fly to right fielding giving them the lead. The Bluejays responded with seven in the bottom of the first. The Mavericks weren't able to bounce back after the early deficit. 
    - Maggie O'Brien hit her first career home run on Tuesday. 
    - Abby Flanagan pitched seven innings against Creighton where she didn't allow any runs and threw two strikeouts. 
    - Prior to Creighton, Omaha won their home series against Kansas City. The Mavericks took game one 1-0 on a walk off single in the eighth inning. The Mavericks dropped game two of the doubleheader 4-3 after the Roos took an early lead. Omaha came back to shutout the KC on Sunday 2-0. 
    - Kamryn Meyer went 2-0 against KC. In the two games and 15 innings pitched, Meyer only allowed six hits and 19 total Ks. In her second game, she was credited with the first 10 outs after retiring 10 straight batters. She also struck out each Roo that went through the lineup at least once.
    - Meyer picked up her 12th career Summit League TicketSmarter Peak Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday. 
    - With 173 strikeouts on the season, Meyer is ranked 12th nationally. She is also ranked seventh in the country for her 20 victories. 
    - Meyer's 15 straight victories on the mound is the longest win streak by any D1 pitcher. 
    - Meyer is 47 strikeouts away from hitting 1000 career strikeouts. 
    - Sydney Ross lead the Summit with a .479 on base percentage. 
    - Maggie O'Brien is on a 15 game hitting streak. On the season she as tallied 55 hits ranking her first in the league and 69th in the country.  
    - With a .978 fielding percentage, the Mavericks are one of the best defensive teams in the nation, ranking first in the league and tenth in the country.

North Dakota hosts Omaha with a 13-36 overall record, having gone 6-2 at home and 5-7 in conference play. UND is on a five game win streak which includes a series sweep over NDSU and non-conference wins against Minot and Minnesota Crookston. The Fighting Hawks are batting a .215 and fielding a .961. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH
•  Angie Dumalo paces UND with a .314 batting  average, the only Hawk to batting above .300. In 102 at-bats she has tallied 32 hits, four doubles, 12 RBIs and six runs. 

• On the mound, Jackie Albrecht has pitched 132 innings of work for a 2.97 ERA and 6-11 record. On the season, Albrecht has thrown 113 strikeouts and has a .222 batting average against. 

On Deck
The Mavericks will return home to Connie Claussen Field to close out the regular season with a their final series against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on May 3-4.
