Zoe Adkins,
Paula Arcarons, and
Khayli Buckels have earned All-League honors for their success in the 2024 season.
Adkins and Arcarons landed on the All-League Women's Tennis Team while Buckels was named to the All-League Women's Honorable Mention Team. Adkins has now picked up back-to-back All-League honors.
"Proud of these three players for making it to the all-league list," said head coach
Adam Summitt. "They worked hard and played great tennis to be recognized for it. It's not easy to get on this list, and to have three is amazing. We've never had more than two make it in one year."
During her sophomore campaign, Adkins went 11-10 overall in singles, picking up nine No.1 singles victories. In the last 10 duals, she went 5-4. Adkins and Arcarons played all but one doubles match together this season leading the Mavericks 13-5 in the No. 1 slot. Adkins went 1-0 with Buckels at No. 1 against Bethel with a 6-3 set. Adkins earned her first Peak Performer of the Week honors after a 4-0 weekend against ORU and Minnesota State.
"Zoe had a great sophomore year playing #1 singles. She's always playing the best player from each team, something that isn't easy to for an underclassman. She will continue to get better with this experience."
Arcarons ended the season on a four-game winning streak in doubles. In singles, Arcarons has gone 7-14 this season but ended the season winning three straight matches.
"Paula got better throughout the year. I felt she found her groove right as we entered conference play. Everything was new this year for her as a transfer. She ended her season on a high note with a 3-match winning streak in singles."
Buckels had a standout freshman campaign, leading all Mavericks with 17 singles victories and an impressive 5-1 record in conference play. The freshman went 4-0 in the No. 2 slot and 13-6 at No. 3. In her last 10 she went 8-2. Buckels closed on a four-game win streak in both singles and doubles. In doubles this season, Buckels went 5-7.
"Khayli had one of the best years as a Maverick in program history. As a freshman to be rewarded with an honorable mention is something to be proud of. She showed up every day to play and compete."
"All three elevated their own game, along with the program," said Summitt. "We look forward to seeing them continue their success on and off the court."
