Mavericks to Host Creighton and Aim to Extend Win Streak

The 25-7 Omaha Mavericks will look to extend their historic win streak as they host cross-town rival Creighton on Tuesday, April 2 for another non-conference matchup . Action at Connie Claussen Field will start at 5 p.m.

    - The Mavericks host Creighton with a 25-7 overall record on the season, having gone 7-0 at home. 
    - Omaha stays hot as they enter Tuesday's game with a 14-game winning streak, breaking their D1 program record of 13 set in 2010, and making them second in the nation for longest-current streak behind Oklahoma's 16-game streak.

Creighton travels across town with a 21-14 overall record, having gone 5-10 on the road. The Bluejays are coming off a sweep of conference opponent Georgetown and a notable 8-0 win in five innings to open the series.

•  Cayla Nielson leads the team with a .348 batting average, having accumulated 40 hits, nine doubles, three home runs, and 15 RBIs. 

• On the mound, Natalia Puchino has made 14 starts and pitched 99.2 innings. She has thrown 93 strikeouts while allowing 32 walks and a 1.83 ERA.

Following a game against Creighton, Omaha will head to the Twin Cities to resume conference play against St. Thomas.
