Mavericks Head to Purdue for a Three-Game Series on a Seven-Game Winning Streak

The 18-7 Omaha Mavericks head to West Lafayette to take on Big Ten opponent Purdue for a three-game series. The action starts on March 14 at 1 p.m. and will run through March 16.

    -  The Mavericks head to Purdue with an 18-7 overall record. 
    - Omaha is on a seven-game winning streak, including four straight shutouts. 
    - The Mavericks competed in four games during the Connie Claussen Classic where they shutout each opponent and scored a combined 23 runs. The Mavericks also won 8-0 in two run-rule games over the weekend.

    - Their lock-down defense and .977 fielding percentage ranks them 19th among all D1 teams. 
    - Kamryn Meyer, with 87 strikeouts, ranks eighth among all D1 pitchers. 
    - The Mavericks have scored first in 19 of their 25 games played and when scoring first Omaha has gone 16-3. 
    - Sydney Ross leads the Mavericks with a .403 batting average, 26 RBIs, nine doubles, and 139 putouts. 
    - Lynsey Tucker leads the way on double plays with 10.

The Purdue Boilermakers enter the three-game series with an 11-11 overall record. Purdue ranks seventh nationally for stolen bases (57) and stolen bases per game (2.59).

PLAYERS TO WATCH
•  Sage Scarmardo leads the Boilermakers with a .426 batting average. At the plate she has gone 23-for-54, scoring 16 runs and recording eight RBIs. 

• On the mound, Julia Gossett has pitched a team-high 45.1 innings, where she has thrown 23 strikeouts and allowed 41 hits and 26 runs.
