The Omaha Mavericks Track and Field squad is primed for their penultimate meet of the 2024 indoor season. Omaha will compete in the Nebraska Tune Up tomorrow afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Mavericks are coming off an impressive weekend at the two-day SDSU Indoor Classic. In the 5000m portion of last weekend,
Lauren Metzger and
Kamryn Ensley toed the line, coming off their impressive 3000m performances the previous week at the Iowa State Classic. When all the laps were complete, Metzger came away with the 5
th fastest time in program history with a 17:45.29. Ensley accomplished the amazing feat of breaking the eight-year-old school record. Ensley's time of 17:20.95 broke the record by seven seconds.
When the weekend was all said and done, the Mavericks had captured eight PR's on the weekend.
On the track side of tomorrow, Omaha will compete in 60m hurdles, 60m dash, the mile, 600m run, 800m run, 200m dash and the 3000m run. The Mavericks will compete in the weight throw, high jump, long jump, triple jump and shot for their field events.
Tomorrow's meet gets underway with the weight throw at 12:00 p.m.
