ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Omaha Hockey finished its series with No. 9 St. Cloud State securing a split following the 2-5 loss at Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Cam Michell had a beautiful takeaway and found himself racing solo ahead of St. Cloud State's defense to bury one behind goaltender Gavin Enright, giving the Mavericks a 1-0 lead.
After neither team scored a power play goal in game one, the Huskies found their groove with the man advantage on Saturday night.
The opening period remained scoreless, but that changed when forward Austin Burnevik netted a game-tying goal on the game's first power play 1:03 into the middle frame. The Huskies did not stop there. They piled on three power play goals and totaled four against the Mavericks in the second period.
Omaha did not see a power play opportunity until only three seconds remaining in the second period. The Mavericks began the third period with 1:57 on the power play. Also, they made a change in goal as freshman goaltender
Kevin Reidler was subbed in for junior
Simon Latkoczy, making his second appearance this season.
Reidler was only scored on once when he was beat by forward Tyson Gross, who scored his second goal of the game at 4:10 into the third period and made it 5-1.
The Mavericks tallied once more when junior forward
Garrett Pinoniemi scored his first goal as a Maverick. Pinoniemi tipped the puck into the net and made it 2-5 where the score would stay.
Omaha returns home to the Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena when it hosts Lindenwood in the pair of teams' first series ever on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14. Both games are set to start at 7:07 p.m.
