Men's Tennis Announces 2025 Spring Schedule

Dec 18, 2024

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Men's Tennis team officially revealed its 2025 spring schedule today, featuring 22 matches - seven home and 15 away - all leading up to the Summit League Championships. This year's schedule features five teams that competed in a postseason tournament (NCAA and NIT) in 2024.

The year starts just south of here with a couple of tough opponents in Oklahoma when the Mavericks begin the season with a Power 4 matchup against the 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Sooners on January 16, followed by the 2024 NIT Champion Tulsa on the 17th. Then it's back to Nebraska for a neutral site contest against Bellarmine in Lincoln, before the road trip concludes on the 25th at Wichita State.

The men kick off the month of February with their first home match against Pratt on the second. Then, after taking on 2024 NIT participant Saint Louis in Missouri on Feburary 8, the team is back home for a pair of Big East contests vs. Butler on the 15th and the conference's reigning regular season champion and tournament runner-up St. John's on the 16th.

This is followed by a short trip to downtown on February 22 when the Mavericks take on Creighton. Next up is another Big East opponent as Omaha heads to Cincinnati to face Xavier. Their time in Ohio ends the next day when they play the 2024 A-10 Tournament runner-up Dayton.

The Mavericks are at the midway point of their home slate on March 7 when they begin Summit League competition against Oral Roberts. The men are immediately back on the road again for four after this, starting with Nebraska-Kearney on March 9, before heading to South Carolina for three games, beginning with The Citadel on March 15. The next day, Omaha takes on the reigning MEC Champion the College of Charleston who advanced all the way to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament last year. The South Carolina road trip concludes on the 17th at Queens University of Charlotte.

Omaha wraps up its home schedule over the following weeks with a three-game homestand featuring two conference opponents with Illinois State on March 23 and North Dakota on March 28, before concluding with the fifth and final Big East opponent of the year against Marquette on March 29 in the home finale.

The regular season concludes in April, first with a trip to Colorado to face Air Force (Apr. 2) and the reigning Summit League champs from Denver (Apr. 4). Then, it's off to Des Moines for the regular season finale at Drake on April 8.

With the regular season complete, all that is left is the 2025 Summit League Championships which will take place at the Denver Tennis Park in Denver, Colo. from April 18-19.
