MANKATO, Minn. – No. 16 Omaha Hockey dropped its second straight game to No. 18 Minnesota State 0-1 while competing for "The Spirit of the Maverick" trophy.
The game saw four power play opportunities for Omaha, but it couldn't get one into the back of the net. The Mavericks had 17 shots on goal in the second period.
The game's only goal came on the power play as the first period wound down when junior forward Adam Eisele got one through junior Simon Latkoczy at 14:06.
Despite several chances and leading Minnesota State 27-16 in shots on goal, Omaha couldn't get one through.
The Mavericks will head into a bye-week next weekend and resume play on Friday, Nov. 8 when it hosts Western Michigan in the NCHC opening series at Baxter Arena.
