Women's Tennis Defeated by Illinois State

Jan 28, 2024

Box Score The Omaha women's tennis team fell to Illinois State 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.

"Tough weekend. We played well in some spots and times," said head coach Adam Summitt. "Bradley was very competitive, scores do not reflect how close it was. We couldn't win the deuce points which was the difference maker. We had chances in doubles to take the point. But momentum really swung in Bradley's favor."

"Illinois state is a really good team. I thought we played great doubles. Again, had chances and couldn't quite close it out. We consisted in singles, but Illinois State was too tough. Keegan played a great match to get us a point."

Full results from the weekend are listed below.

Keegan VanPelt picked up two wins today in her No. 3 doubles and No. 5 singles.

The Omaha Mavericks will compete again Friday at Drake with the first serve at 5 p.m.
