The Mavericks are 2-1-2 after a 1-0 win over UC Santa Barbara at Caniglia Field on Thursday. Omaha travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa on Sunday, Sept. 3 to play the Panthers of Northern Iowa. Kickoff was originally scheduled for 1 p.m., but was moved to 11 a.m. due to weather.

Head coach Tim Walters enters his seventh season at the helm. He has recorded 44 wins on the pitch, including three Summit League semifinal wins, one Summit League championship and a NCAA Tournament appearance.

The goalkeeping duo of senior Mia Reedtz and sophomore Emma Konsmo combined for eight team-shutouts last season. Reedtz started 12 matches last season between the pipes with a save percentage of 72% and a goals-against average of 1.25. Konsmo started 10 matches in net with a save percentage of 76.5% and an average of 1.54 goals against.

Five newcomers joined the Mavericks this season, including four freshmen and one redshirt-sophomore transfer.
SCOUTING THE NORTHERN IOWA PANTHERS
The Panthers of Northern Iowa are on a five-game unbeaten streak as they welcome the Mavericks to UNI Soccer Field on Sunday. Currently riding the second-longest streak in program history, UNI has a record of 4-0-1 with wins over St. Thomas, Viterbo, Southern Utah and Saint Ambrose. The Panthers also played to a 0-0 draw with Western Illinois. UNI has outscored its opponents 16-2 with four shutouts over five matches.
PANTHERS TO WATCH
• Macy Smith was named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals against Southern Utah. The sophomore defender has scored four goals in 125 minutes of action this season.
• Lauren Heinsch is second on the team with seven points on the year, including three goals and an assist. Heinsch has taken 158 shots over her career with the Panthers, the most in program history.
• Goalkeeper Caitlin Richards has started all five games for UNI. Richards has 12 saves and a goals-against average of 0.50 to go along with four shutouts on the season.
SERIES HISTORY
Omaha is 4-2-2 through eight meetings with Northern Iowa. The Mavericks and Panthers met last season in Cedar Falls and played to a 0-0 draw. In 2021, Omaha defeated UNI by a score of 1-0.
