Mavericks Battle the Bison in Final Series of Regular Season

LEADING OFF
The Mavericks notched wins No. 7, 8, and 9 in a row following their third-straight Summit League series sweep. Last weekend, Omaha outscored Western Illinois 21-3 over 20 innings, taking all three games from the Leathernecks.

QUICK HITS
• The Mavericks swept the Summit League weekly honors after the three-win weekend. Rachel Weber earned Peak Performer of the Week, and Kamryn Meyer earned Peak Pitcher of the Week. For Meyer, it is her third weekly award of the season. For Weber, it is her first weekly honor.
Rachel Weber went 8-11 over three games last weekend against Western Illinois. Of those eight hits, Weber notched a double and her first triple of the season. She collected four RBI and came around to score twice.
• With another 26 strikeouts last weekend over two victories, Kamryn Meyer broke the Mavericks' all-time strikeout record held by Cheris Kuster, who notched 698 from 2004-07. Meyer struck out 16 batters in a complete game, one-hit shutout performance on Sunday.
Emma Durr went 2-2 in game one on Saturday, scoring two runs on two hits with two RBI. It was Durr's fifth multi-hit game of the season, and team-leading eighth multi-RBI game.

SCOUTING THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE BISON

The Bison played their first three home games of the season as they welcomed their in-state rival North Dakota to Tharaldson Park in Fargo. NDSU took the series two games to one, winning 8-5 and 4-2 before falling in the series finale by a score of 4-3. The Bison currently hold third place in the Summit League, one and a half games back on the second-place Mavericks.

BISON TO WATCH
• Carley Goetschius leads the Summit League in batting (.380), slugging (.627), RBI (35) and doubles (14). Bella Dean shares the league lead in RBI with 35, due in large-part to a Summit League best nine home runs. Emilee Buringa has scored 39 runs on 37 hits and 20 walks.
• Paige Vargas has a team-low ERA of 2.33. She has 14 complete games with a record of 14-9 on the season, including five shutout performances. She has 147 strikeouts on the year over 141 innings pitched
