The 18-13 Omaha Mavericks look to get back to their winning ways this week when they face crosstown rival Creighton and the University of Missouri Kansas City on the road. Omaha will meet the bluejays tonight before heading to Kansas City for a three game series this Saturday and Sunday.
QUICK HITS
•The Mavericks wrap up their road trip this week with four more games away from Connie Claussen Field. Omaha returns to its city for an away contest at Creighton on Tuesday before heading to the Kansas-Missouri line for a three-game set with the Roos of Kansas City this weekend.
• Omaha lost all three games last weekend at South Dakota State in Sioux Falls, S.D., with two of the three games going beyond the scheduled seven innings. Saturday's series finale went 14 innings, with the Mavericks falling to the Jackrabbits by a score of 1-0.

Sydney Ross reached base three times in game two of the double-header on Friday. She has now reached base safely in eight-straight games, the longest active streak by a Maverick.
• Ross, the catcher, also leads the Summit League in stolen bases. Ross stole a base in the eight-inning loss to South Dakota State in game one on Friday, and now has 12 steals on the season.
• Pitcher
Kamryn Meyer threw 16 and two thirds innings over two starts last weekend. Over those two outings, Meyer allowed one run on 10 total hits, striking out 11. •Meyer continues to dominate the Summit League. Through 14 starts, Meyer leads the league with an ERA of 1.20, 168 strikeouts and three saves on the season.
• The Omaha softball team was tabbed second in the 2023 Summit League Preseason Poll Wednesday morning, the league announced.

SCOUTING THE CREIGHTON BLUEJAYS

The Bluejays welcome the Mavericks to the Creighton Sports Complex for the second half of the season series between the two schools. Omaha took game one by a score of 2-1 at Connie Claussen Field on Mar. 22. The Mavericks have won the past three meetings with the Jays. Creighton won its first Big East series of the season, taking two of three games against DePaul in Chicago, Ill. The Bluejays rallied for 14 hits in a 14-3 win over the Blue Devils on Friday. To date, the Jays are 3-9 in conference play.
BLUEJAYS TO WATCH
• Cayla Nielsen leads the Bluejays with a batting average of .398 over 34 starts. Along with the second-best batting average in the Big East, Nielsen has the second-most doubles in the conference with nine on the season.
• In the circle, Natalia Puchino leads the Bluejays. Puchino has an ERA of 3.15, striking out a team-high 73 batters.

• Ally Vonfeldt has the best batting average on the Kansas City roster at .324. Vonfeldt also leads the Roos in hits (36), doubles (9), home runs (2) and RBI (13).
• Katie Noble leads the way in the Kansas City circle. Over 10 starts, Noble has a team-best ERA of 6.23. She has thrown four complete games and one shutout. Camryn Stickel, with an ERA of 7.41 over 11 starts, has a team-high 42 strikeouts on the year
