Mavericks Sweep Saturday Doubleheader with North Dakota

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Omaha Mavericks secured wins 17 and 18 this afternoon after taking both games against North Dakota. The Mavericks defeated the Fighting Hawks 3-0 in Game 1 and 3-2 in Game 2. Omaha will look to complete the series sweep tomorrow against the Fighting Hawks. First pitch slated for 1:00 p.m. from Connie Claussen Field.

How It Happened
  • Rachel Weber got the Mavericks on the board in the bottom of the 1st inning with an RBI double that scored Lynsey Tucker
  • Sydney Ross singled to left field the next at bat advancing Weber to third base
  • Ross stole second and Weber scored on the throw
  • A sacrifice fly to right field by Emma Durr scored Ross from third for the Mavericks third and final run of Game
  • Kamryn Meyer allowed just one hit on the afternoon
GAME NOTES
  • Meyer threw a season and Summit League best 16 strikeouts today
  • Meyer's one hit allowed is the first one-hitter of the season for the Mavericks
  • Meyer registered her eighth win of the season and ninth complete game
  • It's the first complete game one-hitter for Meyer since March 6, 2022 against Georgia Southern

How It Happened
  • Sophie Cerveny grounded out to second base which drove in Jaelle Johnson for Omaha's first run of the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning
  • Lynsey Tucker singled down the left line driving in Olivia Aden to go up 2-0 on North Dakota
  • North Dakota tied the game in the top of the 4th inning off a double to left field
  • Omaha scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 5th inning when Marra Cramer hit a sac fly to right field bring home Rachel Weber

GAME NOTES
  • Sydney Nuismer picked up her eighth victory of the season
  • Nuismer pitched 6.2 innings allowing two runs on four hits while striking out eight
  • Meyer came in with two outs in the bottom of the 6th to retire the final better and earn her third save of the season
