Mavericks Host Jackrabbits for Senior Night

The Basics
Omaha snapped a nine-game losing skid Thursday night against South Dakota and looks to close out the home portion of its schedule with a win against South Dakota State Saturday. The Mavericks and Jackrabbits tipoff at 7 p.m. at Baxter Arena. Omaha will honor three seniors prior to tipoff - Kyle Luedtke, Akol Arop, and Grant Frickenstein.

Quick Hits
• A nine-game losing streak came to an end Thursday night with the Mavericks prevailing, 78-72, over South Dakota. Four Mavericks put up double-figure performances helping snap the skid.
Frankie Fidler notched his fourth double-double of the year with 27 points and 10 rebounds. He was 10-of-15 from the field.
Ja'Sean Glover and JJ White each added 11 points, while Tony Osburn scored 10 off the bench.
• Osburn and Marquel Sutton recorded career-high rebounds against the Coyotes. Osburn grabbed six, while Sutton saw his first double-digit night with 10 boards.
• Omaha dropped two on the road last week and saw its first overtime of the year at North Dakota.
Frankie Fidler and Tony Osburn scored double-figures vs. the Fighting Hawks, but the Mavericks fell in OT, 76-73.
• Fidler scored a game-high 25 points on 8-of-14 from the field. He was a perfect 8-of-8 at the line. Osburn added 11 points off the bench.
Dylan Brougham had a productive night in the starting lineup. He scored eight points and grabbed a season-high eight boards. He also finished with Omaha's lone block.
• At NDSU, Fidler scored 14 second-half points to lead the Mavericks. Jaeden Marshall and Osburn scored 12 off the bench to complete the double-figure scoring efforts.
• With three games of the regular season remaining, Omaha is fighting to finish in the bottom three of the standings. Oral Roberts remains the only undefeated team in league play at 14-0 and have claimed the regular season title.
• Following last week's action, the Mavericks continue to sit third overall in the league shooting 77.7 percent from the line. Their free throw percentage ranks 12th in the NCAA.
• Fidler continues to lead Omaha at the charity stripe. He is shooting 88.3 percent ranking 24th in the country. He's made a total of 128 free throws this season, which ranks 21st in the country.
• Omaha's bench mob continues to support the Maverick offense. They rank 60th  in the NCAA in bench points per game. Omaha averages 23.82.
• Over the last two weeks, Fidler has had 20+ and 30+ point performances helping bump his scoring average to 14.6 ppg to rank 11th in the league.
• Fidler scored a season-high 33 points against St. Thomas and dropped another 25 points at North Dakota. Earlier this week vs. South Dakota, he scored 27. Fidler is currently on a seven-game streak with at least 10 points scored.
• On the glass, Fidler also leads Omaha with 5.9 rpg. He is tied 11th in the league. He's notched at least 10 boards in four games this season, which helped him record double-doubles in those outings. Fidler set a career-best 11 rebounds earlier this season against Idaho.
• Head coach Chris Crutchfield has a 18-29 overall record. It marks his second season as a head coach and first with the Mavericks.

Scouting the South Dakota State Jackrabbits
The Jackrabbits are 16-11 overall this season and 11-4 in league action. South Dakota State struggled at the start of the year but has found its way since Summit League play opened. Currently, the Jacks are on a five-game win streak with victories against Denver, South Dakota, North Dakota State, North Dakota, and Kansas City. SDSU sits second in the league standings despite only scoring 71.7 ppg in league contests, which ranks fourth.

In league play, Zeke Mayo is averaging 21.9 ppg. Overall, he's scoring just over 18 ppg to lead the Jackrabbits. Mayo also leagues SDSU in rebounding, assists, and steals per game. Mayo has been on a tear for the Jacks scoring double-figures over the last 14 games. Six of those games have seen points totals of at least 25, including a season-high 41 points vs. North Dakota State.

Eric Henderson is in his fourth season as head coach of the Jackrabbits. He has a career record of 84-33 with SDSU.

All-Time Against South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 52-32. They took an 84-61 win over the Mavericks earlier this season.
