Box Score The Omaha Mavericks Women's Tennis dropped their weekend opener in a tight battle with the Western Michigan Broncos, 4-0.
"We had a good opportunity today and just came up short. We had a tough out in doubles. Ines went down with an injury at 5-4. She didn't quit and finished the match, but after she went down it changed momentum," head coach
Adam Summitt said. "In singles, we played well, but when we were out there, we just didn't execute our game plan. We were too reactive to what Western was doing. I hope we can shift our mindset tomorrow against Chicago State."
The doubles duo of
Brooke Covington and Keegan Van Pelt won their doubles match 6-4.
Jessica Aragon and
Ines Absisan came up just short in their doubles match, falling 7-5. Full results from today's match are listed below.
The Mavericks will look to bounce back tomorrow morning when they take on Chicago State at 10:00 a.m.
