Kansas City, Mo.-- Regan Zimmers and Sophia Green were named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-West Region Teams on Tuesday. Zimmers was named to the First Team, and Green earned Second-Team honors. 

It is the second All-Region award for Zimmers, who was named to the Second Team All-West Region in 2022. It is the first All-Region honor for Green. Zimmers and Green headlined the Summit League Postseason awards in October as Zimmers earned Defensive Player of the Year and Green was named Offensive Player of the Year. The pair were also named to the League's All-Tournament team after leading the Mavericks to the title match for the second-straight year. 

Zimmers helped the Mavericks record six clean sheets this season, including a 2-0 shutout in the Summit League quarterfinal match. The redshirt senior from Omaha recorded nearly 1,300 minutes on the pitch, playing the full duration in 12 of her 13 starts this season. Zimmers played a season-high 110 minutes in the snow at No. 1 Denver in the semifinal of the Summit League Championship to help Omaha earn a spot in the League title match.  

Zimmers recorded her only goal of the season in that match at Denver on Oct. 29 as she netted the second goal of a 2-2 draw that Omaha would win in penalty kicks. Zimmers also had two assists for four points on the year. 

The decorated defender plans to return for her sixth season with the Mavericks in 2024. 

Sophia Green led the league in scoring this year with 10 goals, five assists and 25 points as she broke the Mavericks' Division I-era record for points in a season and tied the record for goals. She scored in four-straight games early in the year and helped the Mavericks in the Summit League tournament with three points in three games. 

Green scored in over half of Omaha's matches this season. She recorded two game-winning goals, adding to her Division I-era program record of nine game winners in her career. She scored her third penalty kick of the season in the Summit League Semifinals at Denver as she broke the Mavericks' D-I record for pk's made in a season. Green's impressive four-year career at Omaha ended with 23 goals, 11 assists and 57 points as she claimed Omaha's D-I records for goals and points in a career.
