Omaha Preps for South Dakota State

The Basics
Omaha takes its next four games on the road tipping off with South Dakota State in Brookings on Thursday. The Mavericks and Jackrabbits will square-off at 7 p.m. Omaha enters the week at 3-4 in the league and tied for seventh place, while SDSU is 4-2 and sit in third place.

Quick Hits
• Omaha rebounded from its St. Thomas loss with a home win vs. North Dakota last week. Frankie Fidler and Marquel Sutton led the Mavericks to the win with near double-doubles.
• Fidler recorded 17 points on 5-of-12 from the field with one three-pointer and 6-of-6 from the line. He grabbed eight rebounds, tallied two assists, two steals, and one block.
• Sutton added 16 points and recorded a career and team-high nine rebounds.
• Omaha shot over 50 percent from the field for the fifth time this season. Against the Fighting Hawks, the Mavericks went 27-of-50 to shoot 54 percent. The team's season high is 58.8 percent from the field set against Midland back on Dec. 13.
• Following the win, the Mavericks dropped Saturday's game to North Dakota State. Despite the loss, freshman guard Ja'Sean Glover poured in a career-high 16 points. He was perfect from the field and also matched his career-high five rebounds.
JJ White matched Glover's production with 16 points, while Fidler extended his double-figure scoring streak to eight games with 13 points.
• Glover's career-high came just a week after he scored 11 points in front of his home crowd at St. Thomas. 
• Through the first 18 games this season, Omaha has three players averaging at least 10 ppg. Fidler leads the Mavericks with 13.2 ppg. He ranks 13th in the Summit League in overall scoring. In league only play, he ranks ninth at 16.6 ppg.
• Sutton sits at 15th overall in the Summit averaging 11.2 ppg, while white trails closely behind at 10.5 ppg and 25th in the league.
• Success from the free throw line continues for Omaha. As a team, they Mavericks are shooting over 78 percent ranking 10th in the nation. Fidler is shooting 91.8 percent ranking ninth in the NCAA.
• Head coach Chris Crutchfield has an 17-21 overall coaching record. It marks his second season as a head coach and first with the Mavericks.

Scouting the South Dakota State Jackrabbits
The defending Summit League champions sit at 9-9 overall and 4-2 in league play entering this week's action. The Jackrabbits won their last two games sneaking a one-point win out over North Dakota and downing South Dakota by 18. The Jacks have struggled on the scoring front this season ranking only ninth in the league with 67.1 ppg.

Zeke Mayo does it all for SDSU this season leading the Jacks in scoring (14.9 ppg), rebounds (6.6 rpg), assists (3.1 apg), and steals (1.0 spg). He's shooting 40 percent from the field and 95.6 percent from the line. The sophomore guard is on a five-game double-figure scoring streak which is highlighted by a season-high 33 points vs. Western Illinois.

Eric Henderson is in his fourth season at the helm. He's compiled a 77-31 overall record with the Jacks.

All-Time Against South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits lead the all-time series 51-32. Omaha went 0-3 against SDSU last season. In the Summit League quarterfinals, Frankie Fidler dropped 35 points as the Mavericks nearly upset the top-seeded Jacks, 87-79.
