Women's Tennis Set to Make Spring Debut at Hurricane Invite

Jan 13, 2023

Women's Tennis will make their 2023 Spring debut this weekend at the Hurricane Invite in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Omaha will open up the four-team tournament on January 14 with the University of Tulsa at 9 a.m. They'll resume play the following morning against Louisiana Tech at 9 a.m. and then the University of Wyoming at 1 p.m.

"Really looking forward to getting started in Tulsa. We have three really challenging matches to start the year," Omaha head coach Adam Summitt said. "Tulsa is one of the best teams in the country, they were ranked in the top 20 last year for some time. Wyoming is a strong contender for the Mountain West title, and Louisiana Tech is coming off one of their best seasons ever. I believe this team is up for this challenge. Our goal is to always come away with a win, but this weekend series will be about just competing and coming out healthy on the other side."

The Mavericks 2023 schedule features 11 home matches. All home matches except the final two on April 1st and April 16th will be played at the home of Omaha Tennis, Miracle Hill Tennis Center. The April 1st and April 16 (Senior Day) will be played at Millard North High School.

Omaha's conference slate is highlighted by six Summit opponents, the University of Denver, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the University of North Dakota, Oral Roberts University, the University of St. Thomas and the University of South Dakota.
