Omaha, Neb.- Omaha Women's Golf head coach Seth Porter announced Thursday the signing of Nicole Hansen for the 2022-23 season.
Hansen joins the Mavericks after four seasons with Nebraska. As a Husker, Hansen competed in 21 rounds of golf over seven events with a career stroke average of 79.3. The Bloomingdale, Ill. native set a career-best round of 70 last season when she tied for first place at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational. The top-ranked finish garnered her Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week honors (Sept. 22, 2021) as she set a career-best 54-hole score of 219 (70-77-72).
Prior to her time at Nebraska, Hansen was a four-year letter winner at Lake Park High School in Illinois. She made three state tournament appearances and was named to the All-DuPage Valley Conference team. Hansen was also voted the MVP by her teammates.
"We are very excited to add Nicole to our program," Porter said. "She brings four years of power-five experience, including an individual win while at Nebraska. Nicole is a graduate student, and we look forward to helping her reach her goals on the golf course while obtaining her MBA."
Hansen will be available for Porter's lineup in the fall, when the Mavericks head to Springfield, Missouri for the Payne Stewart Invitational, hosted by Missouri State. Action begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, September 12-13.
