OMAHA, Neb. - The final weekend of the regular season is on tap for Omaha softball. The Mavericks head to Western Illinois for a three-game series beginning Saturday at noon. Omaha and WIU will play a doubleheader Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday at 11 a.m. The schedule was altered earlier this week due to inclement weather expected in Macomb, Ilinois.

Quick Hits

• Kamryn Meyer was named the Summit League Athlete of the Month Friday morning. She posed a 10-0 record, three shutouts, and a save in 12 appearances. Meyer finished the month of April with a 1.16 ERA, .149 opponent batting average, and 122 strikeouts.
• She is just 16 strikeouts away from breaking the program's all-time single-season strikeout record.
• Meyer ranks in the top-25 nationally in several stat categories. She is third with 11.9 strikeouts per seven innings, 10th with 244 total strikeouts, fourth with 10 shutouts, fifth with 3.2 hits allowed per seven innings, and 11th with 1.16 ERA.
• Omaha swept Kansas City in its final weekend at home last week. The Mavericks earned 8-4, 4-3, and 7-0 wins.
• The 7-0 shutout on senior day marked Omaha's 14th shutout of the year. 
• As a team, the Mavericks are hitting .286. They're led by Jamie White who's hitting a career-best .370. She ranks fourth in the Summit League. White leads the league in on-base percentage (.526). She is also tied eighth with eight homers.
• Izzy Eltze sits in fifth hitting .368 at the plate. Eltze also ranks in runs scored (9th/30), hits (9th/49), home runs (8th/8).
• Lynsey Tucker and Sydney Ross have been aggressive on the base path for the Mavericks. Tucker has a team-leading 14 stolen bases, which ranks second in the league. Ross comes in at third with 12 on the year.
• Omaha is on an eight-game winning streak. The Mavericks currently sit in second place in the standings behind the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. A full Summit League Tournament bracket and schedule will be released following the conclusion of Sunday's games.

Scouting Western Illinois
The Leathernecks are 8-34 overall and 4-14 in league play. They currently sit at the bottom of the league standings. Western Illinois has league wins vs. Kansas City, North Dakota, and St. Thomas. They dropped their last four games suffering a sweep by South Dakota and a non-conference loss to Illinois.

Leathernecks to Watch

• Ami Ill leads the Leathernecks hitting .303 on the season. She has 37 hits, including three triples. She has five RBI and 15 runs scored. Ill also leads WIU with six stolen bases this season.
• Abby Carlin is WIU's go-to in the circle. She's made 18 starts over 28 appearances. Carlin is 7-11 overall with a 3.55 ERA, two shutouts, and 115 strikeouts.

Series History
The all-time series history is tied 14-14. The teams split both doubleheaders last year. Omaha took a 4-3 win in game two and a 9-1 six-inning win in game three.
