OMAHA, Neb. - The final weekend of the regular season is on tap for Omaha softball. The Mavericks head to Western Illinois for a three-game series beginning Saturday at noon. Omaha and WIU will play a doubleheader Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday at 11 a.m. The schedule was altered earlier this week due to inclement weather expected in Macomb, Ilinois.

- Kamryn Meyer was named the Summit League Athlete of the Month Friday morning. She posed a 10-0 record, three shutouts, and a save in 12 appearances. Meyer finished the month of April with a 1.16 ERA, .149 opponent batting average, and 122 strikeouts.

- Lynsey Tucker and Sydney Ross have been aggressive on the base path for the Mavericks. Tucker has a team-leading 14 stolen bases, which ranks second in the league. Ross comes in at third with 12 on the year.

Scouting Western Illinois
The Leathernecks are 8-34 overall and 4-14 in league play. They currently sit at the bottom of the league standings. Western Illinois has league wins vs. Kansas City, North Dakota, and St. Thomas. They dropped their last four games suffering a sweep by South Dakota and a non-conference loss to Illinois.
Leathernecks to Watch
- Ami Ill leads the Leathernecks hitting .303 on the season. She has 37 hits, including three triples. She has five RBI and 15 runs scored. Ill also leads WIU with six stolen bases this season.
- Abby Carlin is WIU's go-to in the circle. She's made 18 starts over 28 appearances. Carlin is 7-11 overall with a 3.55 ERA, two shutouts, and 115 strikeouts.
Series History
The all-time series history is tied 14-14. The teams split both doubleheaders last year. Omaha took a 4-3 win in game two and a 9-1 six-inning win in game three.
