Mavericks Compete at KT Woodman Classic

Wichita, Kansas – The Omaha track & field team continued its outdoor season on Wednesday through Saturday at the KT Woodman Classic.

Taylor Ramaekers kicked off the meet by competing in the heptathlon on Wednesday and Thursday. Ramaekers posted a lifetime best in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.76. Ramaekers continued her strong performance in her first heptathlon of the season by finishing sixth. Her score of 3925 was almost 100 points higher than she scored at the KT Woodman Classic last season.

In the 100m, Nina Cuevas sprinted to her collegiate best time of 12.32 against tough competition.

In the 800m, Zoe Christenson finished with a time of 2:27.78, eclipsing her previous lifetime best by four seconds.

In the 1500m, Maya Nachtigal and Madeline Yardley, raced to lifetime bests in the third section of the 1500m. Nachtigal posted a time of 4:51.99, good for 18th place. Yardley finished with a time of 5:01.33, good for 34th place.

In the 100m hurdles, Vanessa Gunderson ran a collegiate best 16.36 to finish in 25th place.

In the high jump, Milan Coggins matched her collegiate best jump of 5'2.25" in windy conditions.

Finally, in the javelin, Lucy Turner had a lifetime best throw of 109'7''. Turner topped her previous best throw by three feet.

The Mavericks are back in action at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Long Beach, California on April 14 and the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California on April 14 and April 15.
