Boeve Earns First Summit League Honor of Season

Feb 21, 2022

Omaha third baseman Mike Boeve has been named this year's first Summit League Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Hastings, Neb., tormented San Jose State pitchers during the opening weekend of the season. Boeve batted .600 (9 for 15) over four games with an on-base percentage of .727. In addition to his nine hits, he also walked six times and was hit by a pitch, eventually scoring 11 runs.

After recording a pair of hits and scoring three times in the opener, Boeve went 4 for 4, scored two runs and drove in two more in Omaha's 15-0 victory in the second game of the series. He crossed the plate five times in the series finale during a three-hit performance, which included an inside-the-park home run.
