AMES, Iowa - With a winter storm watch for Central Iowa in effect from Wednesday evening through late Friday, the Omaha men's basketball game at Iowa State on Wednesday, Dec. 21 has been cancelled due to potential severe weather conditions and will not be made up, the Cyclone Athletics Department announced Tuesday morning.
"The safety of our student-athletes and coaches is of the utmost importance, and we are grateful to Iowa State for their consultation regarding the game," said
Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Adrian Dowell.
Fans who had purchased single-game tickets for either game will be issued a refund by the ISU Athletics Ticket Office.
The Mavericks will break for the holidays before returning to Baxter Arena on Jan. 29 and 31 to host Oral Roberts and Kansas City. Omaha picked up its first league win vs. Denver earlier this week in the conference opener and looks to carry that momentum into the New Year.
