Mavericks Fall to SDSU, 7-6

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha baseball team fell 7-6 vs. South Dakota State in game three of the weekend series at Tal Anderson Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Mavericks fall to 7-9 (2-1 Summit League) while the Jackrabbits improve to 6-9 (1-2).
 
How it Happened
  • SDSU grabbed a two-run lead on a two-run homer in the top of the third.
  • Masen Prososki ripped a two-RBI single through the right side, scoring Brett Bonar and Ryan Doran to tie it up in the fourth.
  • Keil Krumwiede followed with an RBI single to plate Parker Smejkal and give the Mavericks a 3-2 lead.
  • The Jackrabbits responded with a two-run home run in the fifth to take the lead back at 4-3.
  • Prososki tied the game a second time in the sixth with an RBI double to right, bringing home Garrett Kennedy.
  • The Mavericks grabbed a 5-4 lead when Krumwiede's ground ball went through the legs of the SDSU second baseman, allowing Prososki to sprint home from second.
  • Harrison Denk doubled the Omaha lead with an RBI double to score Breyden Eckhout.
  • The Jackrabbits snagged the late lead in the top of the eighth with three runs on two hits to clinch the 7-6 win on Saturday.
