PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – The Omaha baseball program dropped an 8-1 result to Dartmouth Sunday morning on the final day of the Snowbird Classic.
Omaha (4-3) concludes the record with a 2-2 record at the Snowbird Classic, while Dartmouth improves to 2-2 overall.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Grant Goldston and
Garrett Kennedy registered the lone hits for Omaha, as each plater went 1-for-4. Kennedy also scored the only run for Omaha, while
Harrison Denk was credited with the groundout RBI.
On the mound,
Richie Holetz fell to 0-2 on the season with 4.0 innings pitched, four strikeouts, five hits three runs (two earned) and two walks allowed. In relief,
Jackson Gordon,
Henry Ristvedt and
Jake Pennington combined for the final six innings. Dartmouth's Justin Murray was credited with the win (1-0) on 7.0 innings pitched, six strikeouts, no runs and just three hits allowed.
INSIDE THE INNINGS
Dartmouth plated three runs in the third with two outs. The Mavericks turned a 4-6-3 double play in the top of the third, but the Big Green responded with a single and a hit by pitch to put runners on base. A passed ball advanced the runners and scored the first Dartmouth run of the game. A double to right-center followed and brought in two more runs to make it 3-0.
Three more Dartmouth runs came in the bottom of the fifth. Omaha already recorded two outs, but Dartmouth answered with a trio of RBI on a pair of singles to put Omaha in a 6-0 deficit. The final two runs for Dartmouth came in the bottom of the sixth on a double and a single.
Omaha scored its lone run in the top of the eighth. Kennedy doubled and then advanced to third on a wild pitch. A Denk groundout was able to advance Kennedy for Omaha's only run. In the ninth, Omaha loaded the bases, but Dartmouth was able to retire the next three Maverick hitters for the win.
