DENVER -- The Omaha men's basketball team opened its final regular-season road swing Wednesday evening, falling 94-78 to Denver at Magness Arena.
Leaders for Omaha
The Mavericks were led by senior
Daniel Norl's third 20-point scoring performance of the season. He finished with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting, three assists and a block.
Sophomore
JT Gibson added 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, hitting a perfect 3-of-3 from long range alongside three assists, a rebound and a steal. Junior
Zach Jackson rounded it out with 11 points on a 4-of-7 night.
Junior
Mitch Hahn also tallied seven points and a game-high nine rebounds, and freshman
Matt Pile added nine points.
Leaders for Denver
Joe Rosga scored a game-high 28 points with 10-of-12 shooting and four 3-pointers. Daniel Amigo also had 21 points, and Ade Murkey (11) and Jake Pemberton (10) added double-digit scoring totals of their own.
Team Stats
Denver shot .593 (35-of-59) to Omaha's .518 (29-of-56) and made 10 threes for the night. The Pioneers had a 32-21 advantage on the glass.
Inside the First Half
Denver took the lead out of the gate, but Omaha tied it at 12-12 on a jumper from
Ayo Akinwole and again at 14-14 on a
Daniel Meyer layup. The Pioneers then went on a 10-0 run from there. Omaha managed to cut it to 33-28 with 5:24 left, but DU outscored the Mavericks 16-8 to close the half for a 52-36 advantage. Norl was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the stripe for 13 points.
Inside the Second Half
In the second half, Omaha trimmed the Pioneer lead to 67-61 after a 7-0 spurt powered by five straight from Gibson. With seven minutes to play, a Jackson layup brought the Mavericks within seven again, but DU closed it out with a late push for a 94-78 final.

-Omaha is now 9-18 (4-7 Summit League), while Denver improves to 12-14 (6-6).
