Box Score TULSA, Okla. -- The Omaha baseball team saw its lead erased in the seventh inning Friday night, falling 6-4 to Oral Roberts at J.L. Johnson Stadium. The Mavericks are now 17-17 (8-5 Summit League), while the Golden Eagles improve to 21-12 (10-3 Summit League).
Senior right-hander 
Tyler Fox (6-2) took the loss, surrendering six runs on 11 hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 7.0 innings pitched. Cale Tims (4-1) earned the win relief, keeping Omaha to three hits with no walks over 2.0 shutout innings. Brady Womacks recorded his sixth save of the year, limiting the Mavericks to one hit with no walks over the last 2.0 scoreless innings.
Sophomore 
Ryan Cate led UNO at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with an RBI. Senior 
Clayton Taylor (2-for-5, one run) and freshman 
Riley Herold (2-for-4, one run) also had multi-hit performances. 
Omaha got off to a fast start, creating a two-run lead in the top of the first inning. Senior 
Alex Schultz led off the game by reaching on a fielding error, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by senior 
Cole Gruber and went to third when Taylor reached on a wild pitch. Taylor then stole second, allowing Schultz to score on the throw for the Mavericks' first run of the night. Cate followed with an RBI single through the left side, driving in Taylor for a 2-0 tally.
The Mavericks added another run in the fourth as Herold got on with a single to right and later scored on Schultz's RBI double down the right field line to push the lead to 3-0.
ORU rallied in the fifth to make it a one-run ballgame, when Chase Stafford belted a two-run homer that trimmed Omaha's lead to 3-2.
The Mavericks crossed another run in the sixth, however. Freshman 
Grant Suponchick led off the inning with a four-pitch walk and advanced to third when Herold reached on an error. Freshman 
Jack Kalina then singled to third to score Suponchick, which extended UNO's advantage to 4-2.
The Golden Eagles pulled within one again at 4-3 in the bottom half of the inning, when Brent Williams homered to right. Oral Roberts then loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh, as Trevin Sonnier doubled to center, Stafford walked and Nick Rotola singled to third. Two batters later, ORU took the lead, as Matt Whatley sent a base-clearing double down the left field line to put the Golden Eagles ahead 6-4. 
Whatley paced ORU offensively for the night, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Rotola, Sonnier and Rolando Martinez all finished 2-for-4, with Sonnier scoring twice and Rotola scoring once. Stafford was also 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two more driven in.
