BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Omaha men's team tied for sixth place at the ORU Shootout on Tuesday, its last tournament before the Summit League Championship.

The Mavericks fired a final round team score of 298, their best of the tournament, to finish tied with Illinois State at 914.  Arkansas State won the event with a score of 876 over 54 holes at the Forest Ridge Country Club.  Central Arkansas was second at 883, and Utah Valley finished third at 895.

Ben Maskus led the Mavericks for the fifth straight tournament, doing so in all but one event during the spring season.  He shot 76 on Tuesday to finish at 223, good for a tie for 11th place in the 78-player field.

Mitch Ryan had UNO's best score in round three, a two-under-par card of 70 to tie for the second-lowest round shot by a Maverick this year.  His round included four birdies against just two bogeys.  He closed the tournament at 225, putting him in a tie for 16th.

Cameron MacGregor shot UNO's second-best final-round score, one-over-par 73, to finish at 231 for the tournament and in a tie for 42nd place.  Kevin Gordon was fourth for the Mavericks and was 61st overall with a score of 237 that included a final round of 79.

Kobi Boe completed the team scoring with a total of 249, putting him in a tie for 75th place.  Sam Musch, playing as an individual, closed the event with a score of 79 and finished at 243, tying for 69th.

The Mavericks will play in the Summit League Championship on Sunday-Tuesday, May 1-3 at Newton, Kan.
