BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Omaha men's golf team sits in sixth place after the first two rounds of the ORU Shootout on Monday.
The Mavericks shot rounds of 305 and 311 for a total of 616, six strokes out of the top five. Arkansas State leads the 11-team tournament with a score of 583 after the first 36 holes at the Forest Ridge Country Club. Central Arkansas is second at 586, and Utah Valley is third at 597.
Ben Maskus leads the Mavericks following rounds of 72 and 75 that have him at 147, three over par. He's tied for sixth in the 78-player field.
Mitch Ryan is second for UNO and tied for 44th overall at 155. He fired rounds of 77 and 78 to open the event. He's three strokes ahead of teammates
Kevin Gordon and
Cameron MacGregor who posted matching scores of 158. Gordon went 77-81 while MacGregor shot 79-79 to sit in a tie for 54th.
Kobi Boe completed the scoring for UNO with a line of 80-79-159 to tie for 60th place.
Sam Musch, playing as an individual, shot matching rounds of 82 for a total of 164 that has him 72nd.
The final round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
