SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team opened play with a pair of rounds at the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday at the Valley Hi Country Club.
Rain lengthen the day, and darkness eventually prevented three teams from finishing the second round. With two groups still on the course, the Mavericks are in eighth place with a two-round team score of 612. Campbell leads the 12-team field with a score of 577 with host Sacramento State two strokes back. Cal State Fullerton is third at 597.
Mitch Ryan led the Mavericks over the first 36 holes with rounds of 74 and 77 for a total of 151, good for a tie for 23rd.
Ben Maskus is right behind at 152 after scores of 79 and 73, the latter a team best on day one. He's in a tie for 27th.
Cameron MacGregor is third on the team and 40th overall with scores of 76 and 78 for a total of 154.
Kevin Gordon is one stroke back at 155 with rounds of 80 and 75, putting him in a tie for 41st.
Miles Russell completed the team scoring with scores of 82 and 79 for a total of 161, good for a tie for 57th.
On Tuesday, the final two groups will finish prior to a 10:30 a.m. CT shotgun start for round three.
