MADISON, Ill. – The Omaha men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Derek Dolenc Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Tuesday.
As a team, the Mavericks shot 304 in the final round to finish with a 54-hole score of 897. Host SIUE won with a score of 844, five strokes ahead of Belmont at 849. UT-Martin was third at 852.
Miles Russell was UNO's top scorer and finished in a tie for 30th in the 88-player field with a score of 219, a career best. He finished with a round of 75 on Tuesday.
Ben Maskus was second for the Mavericks and tied for 40th overall with a tally of 221 that included a final round of 73, best on the team.
Mitch Ryan was two strokes behind Maskus at 223 after shooting 74 in the third round. He finished in a tie for 54th.
Kevin Gordon put up a total score of 235 following a final round of 82 that had him in a tie for 79th.
Sam Musch completed the scoring for UNO with a score of 82 in the final round for a total score of 238.
The Mavericks are back in action on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5-6 at the Zach Johnson Invitational at Drake.
