DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – Mitch Ryan is tied for sixth overall, leading the Omaha men's golf team on the first day of play at the Coyote Classic hosted by South Dakota.

The Mavericks are seventh with a team score of 633, forged by team rounds of 312 and 321 at Dakota Dunes Country Club.  Missouri State leads the eight-team field with a score of 606, 11 shots clear of Green Bay in second.  Northern Iowa is in third at 619.

Ryan carded rounds of 77 and 76 for a score of 153.  He's two strokes ahead of teammate Kevin Gordon who shot a team-low round of 74 to open and 81 over the second 18 holes to put him in a tie for 10th.

Miles Russell is third for the Mavericks and tied for 32nd overall with rounds of 81-80 for a score of 161.  Ben Maskus shot 80 and 85 and is in a tie for 37th with a score of 165.

Sam Musch rounded out the scoring for UNO with rounds of 86 and 84 for a score of 170.

The final rounds begins Tuesday at 9 a.m.
