Clayton Taylor then singled in Schultz, spotting Omaha a 1-0 lead.
Fort Wayne retaliated with five runs on three hits in the bottom half of the inning. Shannon Baker and Jackson Boyce both drew walks and Zak Kellogg was hit by a pitch to open the inning with the bases loaded. UNO was held to two hits until the eighth, when it posted one run on three hits. Redshirt freshman
Isaac Holt had a leadoff double to left, followed by a Schultz single to center to put runners on the corners. Gruber's sacrifice fly to left plated Holt, and Omaha trailed 5-2.
