ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team took 13th place at the Sacramento State Invitational on Tuesday.
The Mavericks posted a 54-hole team score of 926 that included a final round of 305, their best of the tournament. Sacramento State won its own tournament with a score of 854. Pacific was second at 867, followed by Seattle at 882.
Karl Krieser led the Mavericks in scoring with a score of 226 that included a final round of 77. He finished in a tie for 41st overall. After a tough start in round one,
Alex Holtan finished strong, posting a score of 76 in round three to finish at 229. He was just six over par over the last two rounds to finish in a tie for 54th.
Brandon Sletmoen was third for the Mavericks and in a tie for 72nd overall with a three-round total of 235. He shot 77 in round three, his best of the tournament.
Taylor Sidzyik was one stroke back at 236 that included a team-low round of 75 on Tuesday. He was tied for 79th overall in the field of 100 golfers.
Phillip Baumberger completed the scoring for the Mavericks at 246. He shot 78 in round three, his best of the tournament.
The Mavericks will have a week off before returning to the course at the Wallace Jones/Warhawk Intercollegiate at Louisiana Monroe on Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24.
